The Girl In The Camel Cape: Pastel Princess

Realistically, it is still Winter and will be for a good few months as yet, but in the world of fashion, winter has been and gone and images of spring have taken over the recent catwalks in a rainbow of pastel colours. Now, I haven't worn pastels for about a decade. I absolutely loved them back in the day when Tammy Girl did the coolest baby blue corduroy flares with diamante hearts on the pockets. I also sported a delicious selection of lycra baby pink vest tops, and a pale yellow gypsy skirt (complete with seashell belt) from Jane Norman. Always handy, as the height of fashion was naturally to escort your skanky P.E. kit around school each day in a classy Jane Norman carrier. String handles and everything! They came in an array of colours, and enabled me to feel truly stylish as I swaggered into the changing rooms…such fond memories. Anyone who knows me will know that I am particularly fond of my earthy tones and most definitely not a massive fan of the standard summer neons, however I do think that it may be time to resurrect these subtle pastel colours and inject some spring elegance into my somewhat neutral wardrobe. Obviously I won't be wearing them all together. I'm not really into the clash, and looking like a box of fancy macaroons isn't really what i'm going for this season.
